Our web-site uses the automatic connection to UPS' database for determining shipping costs.  There are several variables which are fixed that can affect the pricing.  For example, a commercial delivery address is a lower rate than a residential address and the yahoo shopping cart software requires this to be fixed. As a result we have erred on the conservative side, so often shipping costs shown in the order summary are more than the actual cost when we take it to UPS.

When we charge your credit card we will charge you the lower amount.

Also, please keep in mind that jars of yummy jams and sauces are heavy, and the shipping for the first one can be a bit spendy.  Buy a few items and it helps spread the cost.
